Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes I know its a little late… I know everyone has been wondering where the blog has gone over the last month, trust me I have a good excuse. They just don’t have Internet access yet in the Atlantic ocean! I do a little moonlighting job with the Moorings Ltd., the big yacht charter company. They needed a new Beneteau 413 delivered to their base in Belize so we packed our gear and headed out.  These deliveries are not pleasure cruises, but they do offer a great opportunity to gain experience in blue water sailing. This was my second trip, Bret’s first and although most days are relaxing, just sailing the boat, cooking freshly caught fish, and reading,we had many days that were difficult at best. Like, the heavy gale we sailed through in the Yucatan Straits!, the seas were gargantuan, and the US Navy submarine that was sitting dark in our path. Between that adventure and the adventure with the family at Thanksgiving, we’re  very glad to be back at home.
Things have progressed nicely this last month. We took a drive down our new road on Saturday. It was almost dark by the time we arrived but Mr. Hardy has been grading and adding soil to Shell Castle Lane and starting to heavily gravel Vandemere Creek Drive.  The road is really coming together and the subdivision is starting to take shape. At the office things are also humming along nicely. We have been swamped with our contracts coming back and the first round of closing will take place on Friday of this week! We meet tomorrow with Doug from Progress Energy, working out the time table for installing the power.A project like this takes an army of people to bring together and Id like to thank all those that have helped us take a dream and make it into reality.
