Just in case you haven’t seen the weather for Vandemere NC this week, we have highs in the 70’s. It is absolutely gorgeous outside! I spent almost all day at the property walking, taking photos, and talking with our contractors. I learned a lot about road compaction, soils, and have a working schedule that should take us through January.
The marina design is finally finished. It may be tweaked by CAMA  a little but this is a good general idea of what it will look like. Marina schematic This is a PDF FileUpdated Schedule: Now until Holidays-Completing all grading and compaction for Royal Shoal, Shell Castle and Vandemere Creek Drive.-Digging pondsJanuary -Feb-Second compaction test, if pass, gravel-Utility line installation beginsFeb-Club house beginsI have decided to line the roadways with some ornamental trees. I’ll be getting pricing and inventory from some local commercial growers but since my background is in horticulture I tend to be very picky about which trees we install. We will also have two islands that will be landscaped, so I’m designing something for that as well.Thomas has been working his tail off the last few weeks due to all the closings, plus showing the property to potential new neighbors. We decided to add to our little team and hire an administrative assistant to help him out, plus keep our growing pile of documents in order!Thomas has told me that a few of you would like to have an owners message board. I’ll do some research to the best platform and see what I can put together. Our little community is starting to take shape. I’d like to congratulate those that are now Port Vandemere owners from the closings over the last two weeks and for the ones scheduled for later this month. We had a nice visit with Mark and  Deborah last week sharing stories, wine and house plans. And Dave and Carolyn Matthews stopped by the house for coffee and ideas about the development. Just know our door is always open and we look forward to getting to know all of you over the next
