Note from Pete & Susan Rollins, Royal Shoal Lane has gravel
Royal Shoal Lane has a nice new coat of gravel. This part of Port Vandemere is really starting to come together.
Monday Feburary 25, 2008
Seems like most of this weekend was spent plodding away at the computer. Website, accounting, trying to repair Windows Vista (still trying to do that). I did however do a walk through of the project Saturday and got a few good shots of Royal Shoal Lane with a nice coat of gravel.
Bret had a birthday this week, (i’m not supposed to tell how old) so we decided to have his party out at Paradise Shores on Sat. evening. Just about the whole town showed up for Paul Del Rio’s special pot luck dinner for Bret. Throughout the summer Paul hosts pot luck dinners and Nautical lectures/story telling every Sat. which are the highlight of everyone’s week. If you’re down over a Saturday take a drive out to Paradise Shores and get ready for a fun evening.
Pete and Susan Rollins sent a nice letter to Thomas and I thought it would be nice to share it with you.
Port Vandemere.
Susan and I decided that in later years we wanted to live in a small water front development that offered deep water facilities to accommodate our sailboat, had reasonable protection from storms, and that the slip and property purchase were not linked together in the event we should want to sell one and not the other offering more liquidity to your investment.
My wife and I had scheduled a trip to Oriental to view some properties there when I called the Port Vandemere office and talked to Thomas Cleary about what Port Vandemere had to offer and how it related to my wife and me.
Before long Thomas had me on their web site viewing properties and convinced me that Lot 42 was the best interior lot there. It had a pond view and view of Vandemere Creek. That was in June of 2007 when there wasn’t much more than some bulldozed logging roads through the property and no pond. The weekend of Feb. 2, 2008 I had made prior arrangements with Thomas to view the property again and discuss with John Hardy the builder of the roads about putting our driveway in while he was there. When we got there John was there and much of the base road was in ready to be hot topped. The pond which we will enjoy looking at had been dug, there is a picture on the Blog with Thomas walking the edge of the pond at the other end.
Had it not been for Thomas and his straight forward honesty, patience and good on going customer relations I would probably not be as pleased about doing business with Port Vandemere as I am.Regards
Pete
