Royal Shoal Lane finished, Note from Ron and Phebe Applegate

Finished Royal Shoal Lane

Royal Shoal Lane is almost finished, just a little dressing up to do now.

Molly checks out the new road and seems disappointed that the mudholes are gone.

Sunday March 2, 2008

This week was very busy with many positive developments on the Port Vandemere front. Most importantly I think is that our engineers finally finished the drawings for the marina and got them to our consultant. He call Wednesday and said he was about half way through the EA and should have the documents ready to send into CAMA by first of this week. Then we wait, 6 to 8 months for the EA to come back and then on to permitting. Roger has done an absolutely thorough job and seems very positive that this process with go smoothly. We are really lucky that we don’t have any of the eivironmental issues that other marinas have had slowing their permitting process down. Ours is pretty strait forward.
The buzz at the office is that we have a new neighbor joining us. More details on that later.
Our friend Johnathan is a gyrocopter pilot among other things. He went up this week and took some good aerials of Port Vandemere.

Ron and Phebe Applegate have sent in a note to Thomas and I thought I’d also share this one with you. You might remember a photo of their boat from an earlier blog, with a beautiful Montana mountain in the distance.

Thomas,
My wife, Phebe, and I are landlocked sailors living in Montana and spending our summers on Flathead Lake. In the spring of 2007 I came across an ad on the internet for Port Vandemere. Initially, I honestly thought it was too good to be true. I was very guarded because of the long distance between us and Port Vandemere and peppered poor Thomas Cleary with question after question. He was (and still is) very patient with me and answered all of my questions. To make a long story short, we made a trip to visit Port Vandemere and came away sold on the development and the people behind it. We purchased an interior lot and boat slip and look forward to the day that we can leave the house and walk to the boat in just a few minutes. I’ve known Thomas Cleary and have been following the progress of Port Vandemere for about a year now and am impressed with both.
