Repost of Marina Plat..
Tuesday March 25, 2008
Chris Behre was kind enough to let me know that my link to the final marina plat was down. So here it is again.
One more day of cool weather and we’re into the 70’s again. Winter seems to be hanging on until the last minute. Although the afternoon have been quite pleasant the mornings are still a bit chilly.
For all you sailors, we’ve had really nice winds over the weekend. Many in our sailing club headed out to either New Bern or Beaufort, we had company and couldn’t go. They had 20 to 25 knts up and back and from the reports had a glorious sail.
Even with highs only in the 50’s I could see plenty of boats out on the river. This week looks like perfect weather, 10-15 kts from the SW and highs in the 70’s. Oah, if ‘Betsy’s’ headsail wasn’t still at the sail loft being repaied, I might venture out tomorrow.
John Hardy and crew seems to be cranking along with the road with no problems. I’ll head down to Vandemere later today and take new photos. I’ve also had a report from Mr. Harris that one of Vandemeres fish houses is now open for business and has 4 beautiful blue trawlers docked at the main harbor in town. I’ll check it out and report back!

Carolynn and I are enjoying the blog entires, thanks for keeping everyone posted. I’m wondering about the comment that some of the roads are almost done - for example, Royal Shell Ln, which was pictured a few days ago. It doesn’t look paved. The covenants only say that the roads will be finished to meet or exceed NC standards so that roads can be turned over to the municipality for maintenance…the roads are going to be paved, right?

George,
Yes the road will be paved! Paving is the very last step in the process. Once road construction is completed, the utility lines will be installed, then the paving is done. I’ll keep everyone posted on this process so keep checking back to the blog! We should be starting the utilitiy construction before the end of April.
