Making our way to Annapolis

Thursday October 2, 2008

We have had an exciting few weeks on our journey between boat shows. The lack of internet cafes has limited my ability to share the details more as they happen, but I found one now! It closes in 20 minutes so I’ll be quick.

On the Marina: the final environmental assessment paperwork was submitted this week by our consultant after CAMA came up with a few more things. He feels very positive that it will be turned around fairly quickly so we can continue to plan for the first docks to go in possibly in January.

The Clubhouse: More progress was made on the permit for our foundation and driveway, so approval should be in short order.

On our journey, we had a great time anchoring out with Mark and Deb from lot 18 in Greenport NY over last weekend. When I get more time I’ll post some photos and our meet up and of the Maritime Festival over that weekend. They showed us their house plans and have since made arrangements to get started with construction.

The coffee shop is closing, I’ll post more as soon as I can.

    Dave Matthews:

Docks possibly started in January is excellent news. You may remember that our boat is at Hurricane Boat Yard, a working yard, and there is probably general, if not unanimous, agreement that leaving such a yard is a good thing. The boat has been on the hard for repairs and will be back in the water next week, and their facilities are good enough but it will be really nice to get to Port Vandemere. Is there a schedule or target date for power to be brought into the development? Thanks. Dave & Carolyn Matthews

We are looking forward to bringing s/v Luff Affair to Port Vandemere. We’ll see you at the Annapolis Sailboat show. If you need any assistance while in the area feel free to call. We are on our boat at Herrington Harbour North Marina, which is about 30 minutes from Annapolis.
    Regards,
    Don and Mary
